Aquarium

As it’s name indicates, the Aquarium has a big concentration of reef fishes. The dive site starts around 3 to 5mts and goes down to 20mts.
Trumpet fishes, Snappers, Moray and Stonefishes are some of the habitant of this spot. The Aquarium opens out to the deep sea, where big fishes can often be seen such as Eagle Ray, Blue-Fin Jack fish and schools of Octopuses.

Big Rock

The Big Rock lays on a bottom of 30mts, a drift dive from the Big Rock to Aquarium, makes the dive a multilevel non-decompressi on dive.
Sea fans and black coral are attached to the big rock. Paying attention, divers can encounter a meeting with a Long-Nose Hawkfish, habitants of the sea fan and the black corals.

Cannon

Ten cannon from the naval battle of Grand Port (Mahebourg) have been sunk on the dive spot for an artificial reef formation. This unusual reef offers the diver a variety of different reef fishes and if you pay attention at the sand bed close to the spot, you might encounter the presence of a Yellow-Striped Ribbon eel.
 

Canyon

Canyon is a deep dive close to the Cathedral; they both are on the same drop off.
The dive starts on 17mts and can reach 35mts.
Giant Javanese Moray and common reef fishes are present on the spot. Nice drift can often be made ending close to the cathedral.
 

Cathedral

This is one of the most famous dive spots of Mauritius, known for its amazing underwater scene. Well appreciate by photographer for its special light effects; the caves of the cathedral are lived by hundreds of lobsters and Porcupine fishes. The dive starts on the drop off on 16m and can go down to 30mts.
After an exploration of the caves, the dive is ended on the close drop off where an amazing underwater life can be seen, school of Big Eyes Jack fish, Groupers, Lion fish, Fusilier and Butterfly fish making it been amazing.
 

Collin Bambous

The Collin Bambous can be seen like an arena, the drop off turn itself around a big stone with arches, crack and caves make the spot look like the coliseum of Rome but here reef sharks can be the attraction.
The dive starts on about 17mts and can goes down to 40mts.

Coral garden

Close to the reef where the motion of the swell can be felt underwater, the Coral garden is where soft and hard corals have chosen habitant.
The dive starts on 7mts and goes down to 17mts.

Eveille

Eveille the French meaning of ‘wake up’ is a drift dive starting by a little exploration into a cave. The drift start on 27mts and ended on the anemone garden at around 17mts.

Klondike

The Klondike site has his name from the Klondike Hotel. It’s a nice place with small coral formation between sand bottoms.
The dive is about 5-10mts deep and an ideal place for beginners who want to join a diving course.

Roche Cateau

“Cateau” is the common Mauritian name for Parrotfish. Different species of them can be seen on the dive spot. The dive is a multilevel dive of an average depth of 15mts and a maximum depth of 23mts. Green turtle are often visitors of the dive spot….think about your camera…

Snake Reef

Snake reef has his name from the formation of corals and stones on the sand bottom which are looks like a snake from the surface. It’s a small reef on the sand where an incredible concentration of moray, lion fish, scorpion fish and stone fish lives. It’s also a cleaning station for big fishes like rays.
The snake reef is one of the most interesting dive sites in Mauritius.

Swiss Drop

The Swiss Drop is close to the Cathedral. The top of the drop, drop off where the dive will start, is rich in fire corals and common reef fishes like parrot fish or trigger fish.
The dive starts on 20mts can go down to 30 mts.

Wreck dives
 

TUG II

Tug II is the only wreck around Flic en Flac which is not a deep dive. This small wreck lies between 17 and 19mts on the sand bottom. The high concentration of fish makes this dive spot very special and also the species you can find. Habitants of the small wreck are scorpion fish, fire fish, stonefish and the rare Rhinopias which you can only find in the Indian Ocean. Around the wreck on the sand bottom you can find garden eels. This spot is really special and an easy dive even for beginners, so do not forget your camera.
